The Halloween Disco in Secondary was scarily good!

For the final day before the Mid Term Break, Secondary students were given an unusual challenge. They were asked to imagine what it would be like to play sports with a disability. To help students empathise with disabled athletes, they took part in football - while blindfolded. They also played volleyball without being able to stand up and created their own disabled-friendly sports. Thanks to Mr Carr, House Coordinator, for organising the event.

Generous students donated dozens of books to the Father Ray Foundation in Pattaya. Here's Languages' Prefect Yukta (second right) handing over the books to the charity. Thanks to all the students who gave up their old books for a great cause!

GIS students swept the boards following recent drama-based examinations.

Dozens of GIS Secondary students took part in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations. The results have been released and show that GIS students did brilliantly, gaining the highest grades and the best overall results in the region.

GeeGee in Year 11 did particularly well, scoring 99 per cent in her test – higher than anyone from any other school in this part of Thailand. Other amazing scores include Shaniya and Seren with 98 and Henry with 97 out of 100.

Year 10 students have begun studying IGCSE Drama at GIS for the first time this year, and, based on these scores, should do very well. Drama teacher Mr Lund said: “These great results reflect the huge amount of talent that we are fortunate to have here at GIS, as well as the dedication and commitment shown by the students and their teachers.

“This confirms again that GIS is the leading centre for the Arts in this region.”

Enterprising Tiger students from Secondary put on fun events for Primary students. The aim wasn't to raise money - but smiles. Primary students voted for which activity was the most fun to play.

Year 9 students (and some Year 10) enjoyed a series of workshops with Performance Exchange, a UK-based drama company who made a special visit to GIS. GIS now offers IGCSE Drama in Year 10, so this was a great chance for younger student to discover new acting methods.

Year 9 students strike a pose.

Performance Exchange puts GIS students through their paces.
